IMI Precision Engineering Cash Application Specialist in Littleton, Colorado


This position is responsible for performing cash receipt and application duties for the IMI Precision Engineering Americas Finance Group. The job-holder is responsible for ensuring absolute accuracy and integrity of data collection and reporting, as relates to the general ledger of the Precision Engineering Americas Finance Group.


  1. Ensure the efficient operation of cash receipt and application function for the Company by performing duties accurately and on a timely basis, using corporate accounting systems

  2. Process daily deposits for in-house and mail receipts through Lockbox, ACH, Wire Transfers, and Inter-company loans

  3. Reconcile and balance daily cash receipts, including banking reports

  4. Monitor ERP applications for posting and data integrity, to ensure all transactions have posted or processed as scheduled

  5. Provide root-cause analysis and corrections of discrepancies created during cash application process

  6. Communicate impact of Customer payment issues and potential impacts to Collectors, providing supporting materials related to Customer payment transactions which require research and/or reconciliation

  7. Daily monitoring and research of Unapplied Cash, with semi-monthly reporting of activity

  8. Accurately offset unapplied funds and/or debits to invoices identified in Accounts Receivable ageing

  9. Reconcile checks declared Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF), provide collectors with all supporting documentation, and creating necessary transactions in the sub-ledger for accurate account settlements

  10. Maintain efficient cash metric in Excel, update periodic reporting tools as needed

  11. Daily maintenance and reconciliation of Cash Sheet and External Cash Spreadsheet

  12. Update and maintain Standard of Work records, assist with Internal and External audit data gathering

  13. Ability to work a modified work schedule, to include working partial schedule on business holidays that are not a bank holiday

  14. Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience

  1. Associate Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, or Accounting Certification*, is required; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred

  2. Five-plus years of experience in account reconciliation and accounts receivable cash application

  3. Intermediate-to-Advanced Excel skills, as well as excellent math and analytical skills

  4. Able to effectively handle multiple priorities and/or projects

Computers and Technology

  1. Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  2. Knowledge of accounting software and systems (ERP), JDE experience is preferred
